Mar Lodge Estate is now owned by the National Trust for Scotland. The estate has 15 Munros within its borders with which the National Trust has adopted a policy of the Long Walk in. Wild camping is allowed although no fires are permitted, there is a ranger service which has been established to inform and assist visitors to the estate. Mar Lodge Estate can be reached by road by following the Linn of Dee road 3 miles out of Braemar.

Mar Lodge Estate has many guided walks and events on during the year. their website www.marlodgeestate.org.uk details many of these. Some of the events we recommend are the Nature Detectives, High Top Walk, and of course the wonderful Ghillies Ball which is usually held at the end of October.
